Police locate 1 of 2 suspects in manslaughter

Pine Bluff Police have located one of two suspects sought in connection with the death of a man found dead on Oak Street.

Crystal Mayo, 41, was taken into custody March 3 and John Mayo, 42, is still at large, according to a news release.

During the investigation it was determined that dogs owned by Crystal and John Mayo attacked and killed the victim identified as Kenny Christopher, 63, according to the release.

The Pine Bluff Police Department Detective office is still asking for assistance locating John Mayo. Both face manslaughter charges in connection with the death of Christopher on Feb. 26. John Mayo is about 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs around 300 pounds. An arrest warrant was issued for both.

On Feb. 26, just after 6:30 a.m. officers responded to 2105 S. Oak St. for a reported dead body. On arrival, officers found an unresponsive older male lying just off of the roadway in front of the address. The male was later pronounced dead at the scene and had died some time before being discovered. The male did not have any readily identifiable gunshot or stab wounds.
