Police chief: No policies violated in juvenile arrest

Following an internal investigation into an allegation of excessive force during a juvenile’s arrest, Pine Bluff Police Chief Brenda Davis-Jones said Thursday police didn’t violate any policies.

An internal investigation was conducted into the actions of a police officer during an arrest of a juvenile at about 8 p.m. June 15 in the 4300 block of West 18th Avenue, police said previously.

“The administrative investigation is complete and the Chief of Police has determined that there were no policy violations committed by our employees,” police spokesman Capt. Greg Shapiro said in an e-mailed statement Thursday evening.

Shapiro said because the arrest involved a juvenile, police were limited on the information that they could release.
