Two people were arrested Tuesday following an investigation into alleged drug activity at a house in the Dollarway area where officers found methamphetamine, police said.
Lucas Gibbins, 31, and Felicia Cooley, 25, were taken into custody after police vice and narcotics officers and agents of the Tri-County Drug Task Force served a search warrant at 6609 Jones St. at about 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said Thursday officers detained Gibbins and found two bags containing a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, including one bag in his right front pocket.
Detective Richard McCorvy reported that Gibbins also had two bank debit cards in his pocket, and the names on the card were not his.
Kizer said officers located Cooley in a bedroom standing next to a dresser, and a bag containing methamphetamine on the dresser, along with a second bag of methamphetamine in a wallet that also had Cooley’s identification cards in it.

McCorvy reported that officers also found a glass smoking pipe that was burned on one end and contained a white powder substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, and a pill bottle containing five pills inside a purse in the bedroom.
Kizer said Gibbins had an extensive criminal history, including serving time in the penitentiary four times, was on parole, and listed as an absconder, while Cooley had no prior felony convictions or pending charges.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 bond for Gibbins and a $10,000 bond for Cooley after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge both of them with possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine. Cooley could also be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia because of the smoking pipe found in the bedroom where she was located.
Bridgforth appointed the Public Defender’s Office to represent both Gibbins and Cooley and told them to come back to court March 2 at 9 a.m.
