Two Pine Bluff men were arrested after allegedly stealing items from the Walmart Supercenter but not before one of them allegedly managed to reach a vehicle and strike three other vehicles in the parking lot.
According to the police report, a store security officer saw Andrew Love, 46, and Deshan Reynolds, 42, take several items and Love got out of the store and got into a vehicle while Reynolds was detained.
Officer Tamina Smith said in a report that when she met with Reynolds, he “had a strong odor of intoxicants coming from his person.”
She said when she met with Love, who had been detained by another officer, his speech was slurred “and he had a strong odor of intoxicants coming from his person, bloodshot eyes, and talking really loud.”
Smith said Love refused to take a series of field sobriety tests and when he was taken to the jail, refused to sign the rights form and refused to take a breath alcohol test.
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
Love was arrested on charges of shoplifting, failure to maintain control, driving with a suspended/revoked license, no proof of insurance, leaving the scene of an accident, first offense DWI and failure to submit.
