Pine Bluff/Jefferson County museum slates archeology talk

The Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Historical Museum, 201 E. Fourth Ave., will observe Archeology Month featuring a discussion by John House, Ph.D, station archeologist at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

House will make a presentation at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16, in the meeting room of the museum. The community is invited to attend.

“Dr. House is an amazing speaker,” Ramsey Douglas, director of the museum, said in a news release. “I can expect that this year’s talk on ‘Exploring the Secrets of the Mounds’ will be very informative and enjoyable. I hope to see much of the community coming out for this exciting once a year event.”

The museum will also be open for visitors to walk through and see all of the galleries and artifacts. One new item is the lobby display that reflects Archeology Month. Details: 541-5402.
