A remodel has begun at the Pine Bluff Wal-Mart store, which will remain open during the project.
Trolinger Construction LLC of West Plains, Missouri, is doing the remodel, Trolinger Construction shift supervisor Kenny Dienst said Tuesday. A crew of six Trolinger employees arrived on Tuesday, March 17, to set up equipment and then began the remodel work on Sunday, March 22.
Dienst said he expects they need 12 weeks to complete the job. The remodel is to fix broken equipment; it does not change the square footage of the building.
“We have a scope of work by Wal-Mart and a schedule,” Dienst said. “We are doing flooring, refrigeration, changing cases and working in the pharmacy. We will make it look good and keep customers happy.”
The Wal-Mart store is at 5501 S. Olive St. and is open 24 hours per day. Trolinger Construction LLC has six employees working the remodel, Dienst said.

“We work from 8 at night until 7 in the morning,” Dienst said. “[The purpose of the remodel] is to make it look better to better serve the customers.
“We are just getting started,” Dienst said Tuesday. “There will be some challenges. We have a lot of rooftop units to put in place, refrigeration work and air conditioning units.”
A Wal-Mart store manager declined comment and referred questions to a corporate media relations office. Phone calls made to that office were not returned by press time.
