Pine Bluff School District names Spelling Bee winners

The Pine Bluff School District Spelling Bee winners have been announced.

McKinnli Jackson, a fifth grader from 34th Avenue Elementary School, received two trophies as the overall winner of district Spelling Bee as well as the winner in her grade level. She competed in the Jefferson County Spelling bee Jan. 24 at the the Pine Bluff High School Little Theater.

Other district winners were Makhiah Curry of Broadmoor, Kindergarten; Jude Kearney of 34th Avenue, 1st grade; Sanaii Austin of 34th Avenue, 2nd grade; and Valyncia Ramsey of W. T. Cheney, 3rd grade. Each of received first place trophies and competed in the Jefferson County Spelling Bee Feb. 14.

Jude Kearney won first place at the county Spelling Bee.

The district held its spelling bee for kindergarten through 3rd grade Jan. 5 and for 4th through 8th grade Jan. 6 at the Little Theater.
