Pine Bluff Police have arrested a suspect and are looking for a second in connection with an April 18 homicide.

Detectives located and apprehended Quan Turner without incident Tuesday. Prosecuting Attorney Kyle Hunter said Turner is held at the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Detention Center without bail, but a decision on whether to formally charge Turner will not be made until an investigation is completed.

Turner is accused of playing a role in the killing of Asa Stewart, whom police found dead at a residence in the 2600 block of West 30th Avenue on April 18.

Turner was identified “quickly” through the collection of physical evidence, witness interviews and review of surveillance footage, according to police.

Detectives have identified a second suspect believed to be involved in the “planning or execution” of the homicide and are looking for him, police said.

Ka’Juan Madkins, 22, is described as approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. His last known address is in the 2300 block of Pine Hill Drive, Pine Bluff.

“Madkins is considered armed and dangerous,” police said. They added Madkins has felony active warrants out of Lincoln County on suspicion of aggravated robbery, terroristic threatening in the first degree, and aggravated residential burglary. He is also said to be a suspect in a separate, ongoing robbery investigation in Pine Bluff.

“Anyone who sees Madkins or has information regarding his location is urged not to approach him and instead contact the Pine Bluff Police Department immediately,” police said.
