Pine Bluff rounded off the bottom of the Arkansas Tech Business Index for the quarter, according to data released Tuesday.
Ten of the 17 Arkansas municipalities listed on the ATBI saw their economies perform above the state average for the third quarter of 2014 according to the data, which the Arkansas Tech University College of Business compiles.
The ATBI, which launched in April, is a comprehensive measure that provides a snapshot of economic activity around the state, encompassing a labor index, housing market index, construction index and retail sales index.
The index is based around 100. A city reading above 100 indicates that the city is currently doing better than the state average from 2009 to the present.
Fort Smith (106.81), Fayetteville (105.51), Conway (103.98), Springdale (103.96), Bentonville (103.52), Van Buren (103.47), Searcy (102.52), Jonesboro (101.88), Rogers (100.66) and Hot Springs (100.09) all topped the century mark on the ATBI for third quarter 2014.
Little Rock (97.74), Russellville (97.26), North Little Rock (95.13), West Memphis (94.38), El Dorado (94.35), Texarkana (94.09) and Pine Bluff (92.26) round out the municipalities listed on the ATBI for third quarter 2014.
