The Pine Bluff Christian Women Connection has scheduled its “Bushels of Blessings” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
A preview of holiday decorating will be presented by Rachel Clinton, a floral designer from the Petal Shoppe, a local florist located at 5905 Dollarway Road. Clinton, a Pine Bluff native, will be presenting holiday wreaths, centerpieces and arrangements, along with ideas for the Thanksgiving table. Clinton has 17 years’ experience as a floral designer. She relates that she started in the floral business as a delivery person and from that start she learned from many designers ultimately developing her own unique style. Even as a child she loved to arrange and decorate and now her friends refer to her as, “A girl born with glitter in her veins”.
“The Gift” will be presented by Mary Farmer of Terrell, Texas. Farmer is a writer and Christian recording artist who performs at churches, festivals and other special events. Her amazing story of triumph was featured in the March 2011 issue of “Good Housekeeping” and most recently in the November 2012 issue of “Marie Claire Australia.” She works full time in ministry as the co-founder of a domestic violence crisis center. She travels throughout Texas educating and motivating women. Recently married, she and her husband, Kevin, have a blended family with four children. Farmer says she enjoys singing, writing, crafts, sewing and spending time with her family.
This event is sponsored by the Christian Women Connection, which is a part of Stonecroft Ministries in Kansas City, Mo. Christian Women is a non-denominational group with no formal membership, attendance requirements, or dues. There are 2,400 groups meeting throughout the United States and Canada.
The cost of the luncheon is $13.50, which includes tax and gratuity. Reservations can be made by calling Mary Bearden at 870-879-9049 or 870-489-4710.
