• DESTINY WORSHIP CENTER, 4700 W. 28th Ave., will conduct a back-to-school drive-thru event from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15. The event will include free school supplies, food and surprises. There will also be small COVID-19 classroom kits for teachers.
• THE REJUVANATION OUTREACH invites the community to attend activities and giveaways at 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 15-16, at Hestand Stadium. The event will include free hot dogs, games, prizes, clothing, cash giveaways and food boxes (at the end of the evening), organizer Mack Milner, a local pastor, said in a news release.
• HOUSE OF BREAD DELIVERANCE CHURCH, 500 S. Main St., will give out food Monday, Aug. 17, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. or until the 200 boxes are given away. Computer labs will be available through Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. • THE OLD ST. JAMES AND NEW ST. HURRICANE Baptist churches have opened a community mini pantry located at New St. Hurricane, 3319 S. Ohio St., at Pine Bluff. The mini pantry program is designed for neighbors to help neighbors. Neighbors who wish to contribute may do so at their discretion. “We are asking people to ‘take what they need and leave what they can,” a spokesman said.
