• NEW COMMUNITY CHURCH, 321 N. Birch St., will give away food in a drive-thru event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 19. They will also give away 100 ham shanks. Anyone is welcome to drive by and obtain food from the pantry. New Community follows health guidelines and practices social distancing.
• HOUSE OF BREAD DELIVERANCE CHURCH, 500 S. Main St., will give away food in a drive-thru session Monday, Dec. 21, from 1-4:30 p.m. or until the 250 boxes run out. Food will be handed out on a first come, first served basis and only one box per household will be distributed. Everyone must bring proof of address and wear a mask. • UNION MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, U.S. 63 North at Altheimer, will open its food pantry Tuesday, Dec. 22, from 11 a.m. until all food is gone, according to a news release. People can only pick up for themselves and one other person. For homebound people, call (870) 413-8295 and the pantry workers will deliver, according to Ruthene Kelley.
mUNITY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH, 2712 S. Bay St., invites the community to its free Small Business and Personal Financial Education classes at 7 p.m. Tuesdays. Topics include grants, small business loans, feasibility of a business idea and knowing the business market. The church is practicing social distancing and has hand sanitizer wipes available.
