PB schools to close for King holiday
The Pine Bluff School District will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday. Classes will resume on Tuesday. Meals won’t be delivered Monday for students in virtual classes. Delivery of those meals will resume Wednesday, according to a news release.
Small-craft advisory on river is lifted
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District lifted the small-craft advisory for the Arkansas River, according to a news release.
Small-craft advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. While flows have receded, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river. Details: www.about.me/usacelittlerock.
Blood donations, drives said needed
The increase in new cases of covid-19 has resulted in the cancellation of blood drives. To meet the daily needs of the hospitals, the community’s help is needed, according to a news release from the Arkansas Blood Institute.
