PB police investigating shooting that led to man’s hospitalization

Pine Bluff Police are investigating after a man was shot multiple times Saturday.

At approximately 6 a.m., officers received a call that someone had been shot in the 1300 block of West 23rd Avenue.

They located the victim, who was being loaded into an ambulance for transport to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where he is currently receiving treatment, according to a news release.

The woman who called 911 after the shooting told police at the scene that she heard a man yelling outside her residence, then saw him sitting underneath a tree across the street from her home.

The man yelled at her to “call an ambulance.” After further investigation, officers noticed that the woman’s residence had been struck by gunfire; however, she was not injured.

Officers found multiple spent shell casings at 23rd Avenue and Mulberry Street, along with a pair of shoes. No suspect information is available.
