PB pair arrested on drug charges

Two Pine Bluff residents were arrested Wednesday morning for allegedly possessing a substance that field tested positive for marijuana after the Pine Bluff Vice and Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2200 block of West 10th Avenue.

Antonio White, 20, and Tamara McBride, 21, were detained in the residence as officers conducted a search. Police found White allegedly holding and a set of digital scales and a large plastic bag containing suspected marijuana, according to Detective Kenneth Evans.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 cash only bond for White and a $10,000 bond for McBride after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge both of them with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

White said he would hire his own attorney and the Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent McBride.

White and McBride were told to come back to court Sept. 28.
