A purple martin was seen on Dollarway Road in Pine Bluff on Monday, Feb. 1. This was the first reported sighting of the bird, known as the harbinger of spring.
Larry Clowers of Pine Bluff said he saw the purple martin on a power line about 2:30 p.m. near a bird house. He said the bird was probably a scout.
