$200K bond set for Jenkins in Pine Bluff salon shooting
Will Jenkins

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $200,000 bond Monday morning for 68-year-old Wilbert “Will” Jenkins, who is accused of shooting his longtime girlfriend last Wednesday afternoon.

The judge ruled that prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jenkins with first-degree domestic battery, aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, committing a terroristic act and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to a news release.

Jenkins has been named by police as a suspect in a Dec. 17 shooting. At about 2:20 p.m. on Dec. 17, PBPD officers received a report of a shooting at 204 S. Main St., Uptown Salon.

Witnesses at the scene reported that Jenkins had shot someone at the business and fled the scene. They also described the vehicle he was driving.

Officers located a single victim at the scene. She was identified as 71-year-old Lenora Robinson, Jenkins’ girlfriend. Robinson was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

She was still there Monday morning recuperating from her injuries and was in stable condition, according to the release.

Officers located Jenkins’ vehicle at his residence at 4001 S. Cherry St. Jenkins, perhaps best known as a radio personality, refused to come out of his home, resulting in SWAT teams from both the PBPD and Jefferson County sheriff’s office taking action. Jenkins has now been transferred from Jefferson Regional Medical Center to the Jefferson County jail, according Pine Bluff police.

Tear gas was shot into the residence to try to get Jenkins to come out, but he did not.

After trying to get Jenkins to come out of the residence for over two hours, authorities entered. Jenkins was located inside of the residence in a lethargic state. An ambulance was called and took him to the hospital.
