The 2024 Leadership Pine Bluff Class attended a “Health and Human Services” session in August, touring several health care facilities in Pine Bluff and Jefferson County.
The first half of the day was spent at Jefferson Regional Medical Center where the group began the day hearing from Chief Financial Officer Peter Austin. The group also participated in a mini-health fair with weight, cholesterol and blood pressure checks, according to the newsletter from the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce.
After lunch provided by JRMC, the group drove to White Hall where they were able to tour the new, state-of-the-art Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital that houses an inpatient rehabilitation center and a behavioral health unit.
The next stop was CARTI Cancer Center where the group was greeted by CARTI CEO Adam Head. Located on Bobo Road (just past Trotter Ford), CARTI offers services including comprehensive cancer care, imaging services, breast health and infusion suites, along with cancer experts and additional support.
Leadership Pine Bluff is a program of the Chamber of Commerce. The presenting sponsor is Saracen Casino Resort.
