PB dentists plan free event for uninsured children

Kool Smiles, 2801 S. Olive St., will offer free dental care to uninsured children during the Sharing Smiles day. The event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 15.

Dentists will see area children up to 18 years of age. Available treatments will include dental exams, limited emergency care, extractions, fillings and baby tooth root canals and crowns. Treatments will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and treatment offerings will be determined by the dentist.

“While Kool Smiles is proud to provide quality, affordable dental care to families with various forms of insurance, including Medicaid, we also recognize there are many children in our community who have no insurance and whose families cannot afford regular trips to the dentist,” Dr. Brad Bryan, managing dental director at Kool Smiles, said in a news release.

Sharing Smiles Day 2015, dentists provided free dental care to more than 400 children and hope to see more children this year.
