The Pine Bluff Community Band will present a “Toe-Tap’in” concert from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Café Court at the The Pines mall.
“The program will be loaded with what we call “toe-tappers.” If you like songs such as the 50’s favorite “Rock Around The Clock,” you are going to enjoy this concert,” said Jerry Williams, Community Band director. The program will include Big Band favorites “Tuxedo Junction,” “String Of Pearls,” and “In The Miller Mood Medley,” which features popular tunes by Big Band composer and trombonist Glenn Miller.
The more contemporary segment of the concert will highlight medley: “Legends Of Rock” and “Selections from Chicago.”
Selections from Duke Ellington’s music will include “Take The “A” Train,” “Mood Indigo,” “Caravan,” and “It Don’t Mean A Thing.”
“We want to encourage families to come out to the mall and join us in café court for this concert,” said band president, Lewis Hinkle. “Plan to shop that morning and then be ready to do a little “toe-tap’in” at noon.”
The concert is free and the public is invited to attend.
