The Pine Bluff Community Band and the Pine Bluff Musical Coterie is sponsoring an evening of Christmas music at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 6501 S. Hazel St.

The program will feature instrumental selections by organist, Adam Savacool; pianist, Carolyn Stover; violinist, Alex Michael Small; and the Pine Bluff Community Band. Al Wimberly, Watson Chapel High School band director, will be featured on saxophone as well as professional trumpeter, Garry Henson.

Vocal selections will spotlight University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff senior voice major, Dennis Henry, and other voice students of Heidi Cohenour Gordon; Patricia McArthur Small; and the Gere/Hills family. Both traditional secular and sacred favorites will occupy the program ending the night with the annual singing of “The Hallelujah Chorus.”

“This is a wonderful way for our community to participate in a musical celebration of the season, said Carolyn Stover, Coterie president. “We want everybody to attend and bring others with them.”
