On April 12, the Dollarway Area Neighborhood Watch Organization and Pine Bluff conducted a cleanup during the Great American Cleanup in Ward 4.

Several churches were included such as St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church, Grace and Mercy Baptist Church and St. Luke United Methodist Church, according to a news release.

Local organizations also helped including Pine Bluff/Jefferson Clean & Beautiful Commission, which provided supplies, and city departments such as Code Enforcement which helped with the removal of the trash collected.

Pine Bluff Mayor Vivian Flowers gave words of encouragement to the residents and groups regarding community involvement and being an active part in taking care of the city, according to the news release.

Many streets were cleaned up and improved during this event. There were more than 30 participants involved in this second annual cleanup of the streets in the Dollarway area.

“If you have an interest in being a part of this cleanup next year, the Dollarway Area Neighborhood Watch group meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church at 32 School St.,” a spokesperson said. “Please join us next year and let’s work together to make our neighborhoods shine.”
