Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce served 668 plates of King Kat catfish and chicken at the 72nd annual Farmers Appreciation Fish Fry.
“It was a memorable day filled with great food, laughter, and a deep sense of gratitude,” according to the Chamber newsletter. “Each year, this event gives us the chance to celebrate and show appreciation for the hard-working individuals who form the backbone of our community — our local farmers and everyone involved in agriculture.”
The Chamber thanked everyone who worked tirelessly to put food on tables, ensuring that the community thrives.
“Without your dedication, resilience, and passion, our lives would look very different. You play a crucial role in sustaining us all, and we’re honored to have this annual opportunity to recognize and celebrate you,” a spokesperson said.

Organizers also thanked the Port City Blues Society players “for rocking the arena” during the fish fry.
“We want to extend a special thanks to all our volunteers, sponsors, and partners who made this event possible. Your support and involvement are greatly appreciated,” the spokesperson said.
Also during the gathering, the Pot O’ Gold drawing was conducted. The Chamber held the Pot O’ Gold Fundraiser in which participants could win $2,500 cash, according to the newsletter.
Once the numbers dwindled down to the final three, the group decided to split the winnings evenly among themselves. Winners were Chad Pittillo of Simmons Bank, Jamie McCombs and Carrie Bennett of Jefferson Regional Medical Center and Bryan Robinson of Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel.
The Port City Blues Society players provided live entertainment at the fish fry in Hestand Stadium on Oct. 24. (Special to The Commercial/Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce)
