The Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce thanked Superintendent Keith McGee of the Watson Chapel School District for serving as the keynote speaker last week during the February luncheon.

“Dr. McGee shared valuable insights on key initiatives within the district, including the launch of the new Wildcat Store, which provides essential resources to students experiencing homelessness. He also updated us on the exciting construction of the brand-new high school, being built by Baldwin & Shell Construction, with an expected completion in 2026,” according to the Chamber newsletter.

An advocate for literacy, McGee highlighted his efforts to bring in special guest readers each month as part of the Read Across America campaign. His goal is to inspire students to develop a life-long love for reading and learning.

“We appreciate Dr. McGee’s dedication to education and his commitment to improving opportunities for students in our community,” according to the newsletter.
