Editor, The Commercial:
It was a great joy to attend the “Go Forward Pine Bluff Ministerial Informational Meeting,” Saturday, March 4. The meeting was held at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. The starting time was 8:30 a.m. and ended at 11 a.m.
We were all welcomed by our Honorable mayor, Mrs. Shirley Washington. Pastor Gary Bell ushered us quickly to the throne room of God with the opening prayer. Pastor Jesse Turner stated the purpose of the meeting.
The Go Forward Pine Bluff (GFPB) overview presenters were magnificent, Mary Pringos, Dr. Carla Martin, and Tommy May. Mr. May and I discovered that we were in the Vietnam Tet Offensive during the same year.
We were given folders filled with information to keep and inform others of this great plan. Pastor Glen Barnes Sr. gave us our marching orders with a call to action. Pastor Jerry Williams encouraged us with closing remarks. Pastor Edna Morgan stomped around the pearly gates and then led us to the throne room with a dismissal blessing.

I want to encourage our city council to approve the tax to the citizens to vote. In the book of Ecclesiastes 10:19, the ending of that verse says, “…But money answers everything.”
It takes green power to start and to complete such a task for our city. Now is the time to put your money where your mouth is or put up or shut up. I want to thank the team of one hundred, Mr. May and Mr. Makris for this plan for Pine Bluff.
Hear this from Isaiah the Prophet 58:12: “Those from among you shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.”
Together we can Go Forward Pine Bluff. Amen, Yes We Can!
