Parole Board rejects applications of five

Four Southeast Arkansas residents who had applied to have their prison sentences reduced had those applications rejected by the Arkansas Parole Board.

The four, the crimes they were convicted of and the county of convictions are as follows:

* Eric James; manufacture, delivery or possession of a controlled substance; Jefferson County. James also had multiple convictions in Saline and Pulaski Counties.

* Tony Oswalt; unlawful possession of anhydrous ammonia and drug paraphernalia; Jefferson County. Oswalt also had multiple convictions in Lonoke and Pulaski counties.

* Terrance Proctor; criminal attempt capital murder, two counts second-degree battery; Jefferson County. Proctor also had convictions from Pulaski County.

* Corey Ward, theft of public benefits, Desha County.

The Parole Board also turned down the application of Dominique Azeez, who has sought a pardon. Azeez was convicted in Jefferson County of multiple counts of burglary, theft of property and theft by receiving.
