Two Southeast Arkansas residents were recommended for pardons by the Arkansas Parole Board while a third who applied was rejected.
Meeting Nov. 23, the board also turned down applications by three people who wanted the governor to commute their sentences.
Those whose applications for pardons were recommended for approval, the county of conviction and the crimes convicted of were as follows:
* Debbie Cotton, Jefferson County, two counts theft of property, failure to appear for plea, domestic battery and violating the curfew ordinance.
* Kristi Humpories, Grant County, second-degree forgery.

The board turned down an application by Cathy Orman who was convicted of second-degree forgery, theft of property and falsifying business records.
Those whose pardon applications were rejected, the county of conviction and charges convicted of were as follows:
*Brandon Thomas, Jefferson County, two counts aggravated robbery.
* Peggy Stone, Grant County, delivery of less than two ounces of methamphetamine or cocaine.
* John Boss, Ashley County, manufacture, delivery of possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance methamphetamine or cocaine as an habitual offender, delivery of methamphetamine or cocaine as an habitual offender, Possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver as an habitual offender, possession of drug paraphernalia methamphetamine or cocaine as an habitual offender and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms as an habitual offender.
The recommendations will be sent to the governor who will make the final decision.
