The Arkansas Parole Board has recommended pardons for four people convicted of crimes in Jefferson County.
The recommendations, dated Aug. 28, listed Brenda Gipson-Howard, Fakeesha Goins, Shannon Parson Sanders and Clarence D. Thomas among the 18 people who had applied and whose applications the board said had merit.
Gipson-Howard had previously been convicted of shoplifting and criminal trespass. Goins had been convicted of shoplifting. Sanders had been convicted of theft of property, breaking or entering and theft of property. Thomas was convicted of two counts of theft by receiving.
Applications from another eight people were determined to be without merit by the board.
All the applications will be sent to the governor who will make the final decision.
