Panel won’t refer 1 of 2 residents to prosecutor over allegedly voting twice

Martin D. Golden won’t be referred to the prosecuting attorney for allegedly voting twice in the primary election, Stu Soffer, secretary of the Jefferson County Election Commission, said Friday in an emailed statement.

The decision was made based on information not available during Thursday’s meeting which warranted further discussion, Soffer said.

On Thursday, commissioners said Mike E. Malone of Pine Bluff and Golden of Wabbaseka unlawfully voted twice and the matter would be sent to the prosecuting attorney.
