The Optimist Club of Pine Bluff will honor several Jefferson County graduating seniors during the 2017 Youth Appreciation Luncheon.
The event will be held at noon Wednesday, May 10, in the fellowship hall of St. John AME Church, 1117 W. Pullen Ave. Jefferson County Judge Henry “Hank” Wilkins IV will be the guest speaker.
According to a press release, the event honors students who exemplify outstanding talents in school curriculum and community involvement. Each will receive a book scholarship.
Award recipients are Ethan Bridgforth, Evan Buckner, Nicola Hawthorne, Braelin Hence, Chandler Wilson, Sadagicous Owens, Rachel Lochman and Najallah Johnson, according to the release.
