Lack of intelligence
Editor, The Commercial:
Two things should never be found in any person who is vested with authority at any level. Those are ignorance and arrogance.
Ignorance can be cured by utilizing all available means of learning. Arrogance will be generally corrected by that education since it, if done properly, teaches the person how little they really knew.
That leaves one final issue for those so afflicted and those dealing with them. “There ain’t no cure for STUPID!”
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
Stupidity does not allow those afflicted with it to realize their desperate need of correction. An idiot with a college degree is just an educated idiot. It won’t change their destructiveness.
There are scriptures in all major religions teaching what we have known from childhood as The Golden Rule. They also all tell us we’ll all die. Then whose shall all those things be? Can’t take anything with you.
All that will remain of you here later will be the memories of you held by those whose respect or disdain you’ve earned by your treatment of them while that choice was yours to make.
There is ample evidence that we have given authority at both federal and state level to some ignorant, arrogant office holders. To our misfortune, those folks aren’t aware of how harmful they are to us all.
We have college graduates not intelligent enough to realize the citizens they govern know them to be the liars they are. They all took oaths to uphold the U.S. and state constitutions, some several times for different positions.
When failure to do that proves them to be liars, how can any reasonable person trust anything they say thereafter? Your integrity is based on your honesty and truthfulness in dealing with your fellow men.
