City’s past fading

Editor, The Commercial:

Pine Bluff historian Mr. Paul Perdue would like to find a new location for the museum due to the deteriorated condition of the old train station, but I would like to suggest that any new location within the city would just be allowed to wither away, as the train station and the city itself has.

The majority of the current population has no interest in the city’s history, for reasons that need not be explained; the same reasons that the photographs and trophies of the champion 1951-52 Zebra football and basketball teams were removed from the school’s trophy case at McFadden Gym, and transferred to the decadent train station. All of that is now part of the city’s history too.
