We’re unsure if we’ve ever heard of a title called “chief people officer,” but when it’s attached to Wendy Talbot, it makes perfect sense, as in well, of course that’s what she is.
A notice went out this week that she had been promoted by Jefferson Regional Medical Center, which said she would also have the title of vice president. That designation has none of the unique zip that the other title has, but it does show the hospital values her.
“With over 27 years of dedicated service to Jefferson Regional, Wendy brings unparalleled experience and leadership to her expanded role,” stated the hospital in a news release. “Formerly serving as chief experience officer, Wendy’s transition to this new position is a natural progression that reflects her exceptional track record and commitment to excellence.”
With the new titles, Talbot will get more responsibilities, now being placed over Human Resources, Corporate Education and Employee Health, with all of that heaped on top of what she already did.
If you are lucky enough to know Talbot, you know that her smile, wit, efficiency and reputation as a total pro precede her, making her the kind of employee that, from all appearances, could take a seat behind any desk in the hospital and shine.
Said the hospital: “This expanded scope complements her deep expertise in fostering a positive and engaging work environment for employees throughout our health system. … We have no doubt she’ll excel and continue to elevate our organization.”
No, no one doubts that. And good for Talbot and good for the hospital. It’s always satisfying to see quality individuals rewarded for their work, and the same goes for the institutions that value and recognize such folks. Both make Pine Bluff a better place.
