One killed, two hurt in Saturday accident

A Pine Bluff woman was killed and two people were injured in a two-vehicle traffic accident on South Blake Street at Miramar Drive Friday night.

Katiedra Harris, 38, was a passenger in a car driven by Frederick Griffin, 37, of Pine Bluff that was northbound on Highway 79B (Blake Street) in a 1979 Buick Century when a 2008 Ford Mustang driven by Eterra Pittman, 30, of Pine Bluff crossed the center line while negotiating a curve and struck the Buick head-on.

Harris was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner April Davis.

According to a preliminary report, Griffin and Pittman were injured and taken to Jefferson Regional for treatment.

In a press release Saturday, police said the accident, which was reported at 10:31 p.m., is still under investigation.

State Police report that there have been 480 fatalities on the state’s streets and highways so far this year in a total of 446 separate accidents.
