A single-engine aircraft crashed just after 5 p.m. Wednesday in rural Jefferson County, killing the pilot and injuring a passenger, according to the Arkansas State Police.
State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said the incident was reported at 5:01 p.m. near the Jefferson-Cleveland County line off Huntley Trail.
The names of the two people involved were not immediately available, and Sadler said the injured person was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The FAA was enroute to the scene and will determine the manner and cause of the accident, Sadler said.
No further information was immediately available.
