Number of homes sold, sale prices up in Jefferson County housing market

Jefferson County home sales increased in November and the value of those homes also increased compared to a year ago, according to the Arkansas Realtors Association.

Twenty-nine homes were sold in November 2014, compared to 27 in November 2013. For the year to date, 335 homes have been sold, compared to 356 through the first 11 months of 2014.

The November 2014 home sales represented a value of $2,212,758, compared with a $1,954,746 valuation of homes sold in November 2013.

The average price of a home sold in Jefferson County was $76,302 in November 2014, compared to $72,398 in November 2013. Year-to-date figures were $89,660 in 2014 compared to $94,635 in 2013.

Statewide, the number of homes sold in 2014 increased by 10.4 percent compared to 2013 figures, with 2,017 homes sold in 2014 compared to 1,827 in 2013.

The average price of a home increased from $151,350 in November 2013 to $156,906 in November 2014. Statewide valuations in November increased by more than 12 percent over a year ago.

The counties where the most homes sold were Benton, Pulaski, Washington, Saline and Sebastian.
