No. 2 Cats turn back Trojans

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Arkansas-Little Rock was more than 16 minutes away from one of its biggest upsets in school history, but a big run by Kentucky helped end any chance of that.

The second-ranked team in the nation outscored UALR 23-1 after trailing 34-31 with 16:28 left and went on to a 73-51 victory Tuesday night in Freedom Hall. It also hurt the Trojans (5-11) that they went 10 minutes without a field goal.

Anthony Davis scored 22 points and shot 9 of 11 from the floor to lead Kentucky (14-1). The freshman also collected 16 rebounds, helping the Wildcats to a 50-23 margin on the glass.

Darius Miller, who had 15 points, became the 58th Kentucky player to score 1,000 or more points.

Chuck Guy scored 19 points and had four steals to lead UALR, which played without leading scorer and rebounder Will Neighbour, who had a shoulder injury in Saturday’s win at Denver.
