Mt. Olive to host Second Chance

The Youth Department of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 8523 Princeton Pike, will hold its annual Second Chance Program and Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Kevin Crumpton, pastor of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.

This program will give information and insight on the struggles that are encountered by juveniles or felons who are trying to get back on track after being released from incarceration.

According to an event spokesman, the program is an “attempt to save our youth from unwanted troubles that can jeopardize their future.”

“We are trying to influence our youth to be productive citizens and guide them to people who can assist them to becoming successful citizens,” the spokesman said.

The health fair will begin immediately following the Second Chance program. During the health fair, nurses will be on-hand to perform blood pressure and blood sugar checks, as well as, to address other health concerns.

Refreshments and door prizes will be given away during the health fair.
