Lauren Morehead of Pine Bluff was recently honored for academic research excellence at the Arkansas IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence Research Conference in Fayetteville.
Morehead is a senior chemistry-pre health major at Southern Arkansas University.
Moorhead was awarded honorable mention for her poster in the biological sciences category titled, “Gene discovery for bioactive phenylpropanoids in Echinacea species.”
“The conference this year had a record number of presenters; considering how many they competed against, this is in fact a great honor for us,” said Abdel Bachri, chair of the Department of Engineering and Engineering Physics at SAU.
