Jessica F. Wishard of Drew Central High School at Monticello was among 16,000 semifinalists named to the National Merit Scholarship program recently.
The high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring, according to a spokesman with the program.
