A Monticello man was killed in a two-vehicle accident just north of the Drew County line in Lincoln County Monday.
Keith Perrigen, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene by Lincoln County Coroner Jimmy Hawkins, according to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police.
Perrigen was southbound on U.S. 425 when the 2008 Hyundai he was driving crossed the center line in a curve and hit a northbound 2010 Ford van driven by Willie Montgomery, 50, of Mabelvale, head on, the report said.
The report said Montgomery was taken to a Little Rock hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The accident was reported at 5:25 a.m., and Trooper Dustin Carpenter said in the report that the weather was clear and the roadway dry at the time.
The death was the 282nd reported this year on Arkansas highways.
