Editor, The Commercial:
This year’s theme for the Christmas parade was “the true meaning of Christmas.”
According to the Pine Bluff Commercial and the city of Pine Bluff, it means Santa, marching bands and candy. There was
only one float that showed the true meaning of Christmas and was not even mentioned in the Commercial — “New Beginnings Baptist Church.” The theme was “Where is the Line to See JESUS.”
The street was lined with a lot of Christian people who smiled and waved back. But it saddens me to know there are not

as many Christians in Pine Bluff as I thought.
The Commercial did not even put a picture of the winning float into the paper.
I am not against Santa, marching bands or candy, but the parade did not reflect “the true meaning of Christmas.”
