A public hearing and information session will be held for the proposed Sims-Fayola International Academy-Pine Bluff, a charter middle school for young men.
The meeting will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Business Incubator, 615 S. Main St.
The board of directors of the proposed school invites all interested parties to the meeting.
On March 6, the Sims-Fayola board submitted a letter of intent to the Arkansas Department of Education to open a charter middle school in the fall of 2019. The school would serve males in grades 6-8. The letter will be followed by a charter application Thursday, April 26, according to a news release.
“Enrollment will be open to the public and in accordance with the rules governing public charter schools in Arkansas,” according to the release. “This meeting will focus on the grade configuration, school model overview, instructional approach, application timeline, future information sessions and enrollment protocols.”
