The White Hall Willing Workers Extension Homemakers Club met Feb. 3 for their January meeting due to snow and ice on their regular day.
President Sarah Payton presented the program on Navigating the Great 8, The Eight Dimensions of Wellness. They are Emotional, Occupational, Spiritual, Physical, Social, Financial, Intellectual and Environmental.
She went over all eight of the dimensions and said that wellness is an ongoing process focused on awareness and intentionality, not perfection, according to a news release.
Payton asked Jim Wilson to bless the food. Members had a meal of chicken and wild rice casserole, salad, bread and Valentine’s cake provided by Kay Cromwell, Kathy Wilson and Dee Kindrick.
The Thought of the Month was read by Kindrick: A healthy outside starts from the inside. Kindrick led the members in the Homemaker’s Creed. Jo Ann Carr read the Handy Hint: If you keep good food in your fridge, you will eat good food. Jim Wilson read the Inspiration from 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20. Kindrick called the roll with members telling one healthy food they eat.
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
Eight members, including new member Melissa Earnest, were present, according to a news release.
Carr, club representative on the county board, announced that the County Craft Workshop would be Feb. 26 at the Pine Bluff Library at 9:30 a.m. and that quilt blocks would be made for quilts for veterans. She also reported that pecans, chocolate-covered peanuts and Holiday Foods cookbooks are still available at the extension office.
Payton reminded members to register for the spring meeting in Little Rock on March 11, with a food-judging class at the state office on March 10.
