McGehee outlasts Warren in baseball

WARREN — McGehee canceled its baseball game at Fordyce on Friday and picked up a game in its place at Warren.

McGehee also picked up a 10-6 victory behind Deondrai Haynes’ pitching performance and two hits at the plate. Haynes worked six innings for the victory.

McGehee scored eight runs in the fourth inning to erase a 1-0 deficit. Warren’s Logan Adams, who went 3 for 4, scored on a sacrifice fly by Troy Sellers to put Warren on the board.

Aaron Church pitched three perfect innings before McGehee’s big inning and left with five runs on five hits allowed. He suffered the loss.

But Warren came back with an RBI sacrifice groundout and one-run single by Drake Jones in the fifth, and two runs on Adams’ sixth-inning hit. McGehee added two runs in the seventh, and Warren scored one in response.
