May 15 is the deadline for farmers who purchased 2012 Non-insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program policies to report their acreage to maintain their coverage level, said Henry English, director of the Small Farm Program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
Reports should be made on their acreage of broccoli, cabbage, spring-planted tomatoes, carrots, and all varieties of lettuce and potatoes.
English encourages producers to file an accurate report for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage and prevented planting acreage. Failure to do so can prevent the loss of benefits in a variety of programs.
