Jefferson County Master Gardeners celebrated accomplishments and welcomed new members during their annual business meeting and luncheon.
Outgoing officers were recognized for their support throughout the year, according to a news release.
New members of Master Gardeners for 2024 were named: Carvis Campbell III, Tonya Colen, Mary Craig, Betty Gray, J.L. Peterson, Belinda Randall, Scott Roaf, Phyllis Silas, Aaron Eugene and Vizena Johnson.
Participants also heard success stories including:
Master Gardeners donated 2,500 pounds of produce to Neighbor to Neighbor and other local food banks.

Members collected toys, toiletries and other items to support CASA Women’s Shelter.
There were 3,500 volunteer hours donated in Jefferson County. Members also received 723 education hours to better serve communities.
There were successful demonstration garden tours, horticulture exhibits at the fair, workshops, and the home and garden show.
The luncheon at the meeting was provided by Cassandra Smith, manager and owner of Belle of the Ball catering, according to the release.
