The Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Library System’s main library at the civic center will show Jazz at Lincoln Center at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at the library’s theatre.
“Wynton Marsalis leads an all-star lineup in a Yuletide celebration through streaming video,” according to a news release. “In addition to some swinging JLCO instrumentals, special guest vocalists join the band each season for imaginative new versions of classics like ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Merry Christmas, Baby’.”
Big band arrangements of sacred and secular songs will be performed.
“The clever arrangements and incredible musicianship you expect from a JLCO will be present. This band swings so hard, they make an opener like ‘Jingle Bells’ sound effortless. This is one event that you don’t want to miss,” according to the release.
Refreshments will be provided along with time after the program for discussion, according to the release.
