NORMAN, Okla. —Damien Magnifico tossed 8 2/3 shutout innings, giving up just three hits and striking out four to lead Oklahoma to a 4-0 win over No. 11 Arkansas on Tuesday night at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
Magnifico (1-0) earned his first win of the season on the mound for Oklahoma (19-14). Magnifico struck out four and surrendered just three hits in his time on the mound. Steven Okert got the final out of the game to earn his first save of the season.
Arkansas starter Randall Fant (1-2) took the loss, giving up a run on three hits in two innings.
Dominic Ficociello had a pair of hits to lead the Razorbacks (24-8) at the plate. Jake Wise also had a hit for Arkansas.

Max White had two hits and two RBI for Oklahoma. Cody Reine also added two hits, while Evan Mistich went 1-for-3 with a RBI.
Oklahoma got the scoring started with a run in the bottom of the first. After the first two batters of the inning were retired, Caleb Bushyhead and White hit back-to-back doubles with the second scoring Bushyhead for the game’s first run.
The Sooners tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth, another in the fifth and one in the seventh.
Arkansas got a pair of base runners in the top of the ninth. Matt Reynolds walked with two outs and Jimmy Bosco reached on a fielding error by the pitcher. Oklahoma was able to preserve the shutout as Derrick Bleeker struck out looking to end the contest.
The Razorbacks resume SEC play this weekend when they host No. 3 Kentucky.
