LR man found near Gould died of natural causes, officials say

A Little Rock man found dead on the levee road about four miles east of Gould on Monday likely died of natural causes, officials said.

Lincoln County Coroner Jimmy Hawkins pronounced Elijah Bowman, 62, of Little Rock dead at the scene at 9 a.m. Monday.

Chief Deputy David Parker of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said Bowman appeared to have been hunting at the time of his death and possibly had a heart attack.

Bowman was found by a passerby who called 911 at about 7 a.m.

Deputy Sheriff Kenneth Tillman arrived to investigate, followed by Sheriff Larry McGee and Lt. Kenneth Davis.

Bowman was found unresponsive lying on his back behind a silver Chevrolet pickup that was registered to him.
